I found spring in my cupcake

The "made without" variety are the gluten-free wonders

Unless you're blessed enough to live in a warm climate, you will be familiar with the signs of spring... Birds twittering at my window every morning reminding me that the sun is rising earlier now, and so should I... Daffodils and tulips for sale in heavenly perky little bunches... And of course, a cupcake, encompassing all that is spring. "Twitter-painted" can best describe my sentiments from enjoying a cupcake in spring. And if you don't know twitter-painted, then on your next movie night, I suggest you toss aside your pirated dvd new releases for Bambi...

The Hummingbird Bakery is next on the list of excellent cupcakeries. The one I frequent is in Soho (London) where the cakes never dissatisfy. Although not my favourite of bakeries, they certainly deserve a mention for their selection, decoration, and must-have, best-selling cookbooks. I also took note of their gluten-free variety cupcakes for those with gluten intolerances, or anyone who feels significantly bloated after too much wheat (yes it is that evil gluten within...)

Wardour St, Soho, London UK

After my purchase and leaving the shop.. Celine and Hummingbird Bakery Bag in tow

Couldn't resist diving in down the street...

My verdict: Bakery could be more quaint, cupcakes are delicious and made me salivate, but the ratio of cake to frosting could have been adjusted (in favour of more cake). Also...I was disappointed that a hummingbird didn't flutter out with my cupcake package in his beak to give to me. Oh well... Take a look yourself: hummingbirdbakery.com

And speaking of cupcakes, here's more proof that models eat (and eat well!) Some of the other models and I enjoying a few cupcakes on the job between runway shows...

I wonder if she's ever visited Hummingbird bakery, because she certainly would fit in the store wearing cupcake pink...
